Hi!!  I am Kate. I am an Education Enthusiast, Teacher, Inquirer, Workshop Leader, Yogi, and meditating mother of two, who loves kids, research and innovation. I am a confessed Teach-a-holic, who feels so lucky that I get paid to do it! I am in my 21st year of teaching and I have a BA in Elementary Education and a MA in Curriculum and Instruction - both from Michigan State.  Go Spartans!

I have taught pre-k, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, and seventh grade science. My teaching experiences include teaching in Michigan, Illinois, China, Tanzania, Thailand and Cambodia.  I am currently teaching 2nd Grade and loving it! I work at an IB PYP international school.

A new passion is sharing my love of teaching with teachers. To this end, I have: coached Harvard Graduate School's WIDE World online course Teaching for Understanding, trained as a First Steps Writing Facilitator, and trained as an IB PYP Workshop Leader.  

Outside of teaching, my passions are being a mom to 9 year old and 6 year old, yoga, meditation, traveling, and learning to speak other languages.
